Pennsylvanian Rep. Patrick Murphy Obama Endorsement Tainted
Pennsylvania’s Rep. Patrick Murphy gave a glowing endorsement of Senator Barack Obama on the Jon Stewart’s The Daily show. Unfortunately Rep. Patrick Murphy’s endorsement is more than a little tainted and unfortunately Jon Stewart did not bring up this fact.
Rep. Murphy portrays himself as a patriotic American who served his county in Iraq and I personally thank him for his courageous service; however I can not thank him for an endorsement that appears to be based in financial gain.
Rep. Patrick Murphy took an enormous “donation” in the amount $18,826.00 from Barack Obama prior to making this endorsement.
This “donation” by Barack Obama is the third highest amount and single oddest amount of all of Barack Obama’s almost ¾ of a MILLION DOLLARS in total “donations” to Super Delegates. It is customary for presidential candidates to donate in acceptable sums of money to democratic campaigns; however the amounts of the “donations” by Barack Obama and to whom these “donations” are going should give voters more than pause.
These “donations” the highest of which I can locate is $19,000.00 which I consider a very large sum of money, but the amount of Rep. Patrick Murphy’s donation is the oddest of all of Barack Obama’s “donations” all of the other Obama “donations” I can find are in even amounts. Why would Rep. Murphy receive such an odd “donation” amount?
The most pressing question, aside from the dollar figure, is the question of why would Rep. Patrick Murphy accept such a “donation” when he knew his vote as a Super Delegate would be so very pivotal?
Does Rep. Patrick Murphy not believe that his Super Delegate vote should have been able to be viewed as above board and fair? Does he not question that his acceptance of such an enormous “donation” would possibly lead to the questioning of his motivations in endorsing Senator Barack Obama?
Well, as a plain everyday voter, who did vote, and has been told I will not count, I do not think Rep. Patrick Murphy’s Super Delegate vote should count either as it appears to be tainted by this $18,826.00 “donation” , while my vote has been tainted by simply legally voting and I wasn't even paid to vote.

Is there anything or anyone Obama does not try to buy? He has raised/is spending nearly 1/4 of A BILLION DOLLARS for this nomination. And has yet to close the deal, I might add.
I am just disgusted by him and his entire campaign.

lin, I have an answer for you the answer is no. If Obama cant buy it he lies about it if that doesnt work he hires lawyers and sues. His entire history as a politician has been this way. His first state seat he sued to to clear the playing field on a technicality and thus ran unopposed. When he ran for the house on an even playing field he lost. Then when he ran for the senate once again the lawyers came out threatening to reveal details of not just one but two opponents thus causing them to drop out and giving him the election without actually having to do much. You would think this would be the end but its not. Shortly after the Ohio primary here they came again. This time sueing and threatening to press charges against republicans who changed their party afilliation. It seems to me that this was more an intimidation tactic for other states than anything else. The truly sad thing is the Democratic voters cant seem to see through the smoke and mirrors of the show this guy puts on. I always thought the average American wasnt that gullable. I still dont.Stop Obama before its too late!

This is absurd. *EVERY* candidate for president, *including* Hillary Clinton, has a Political Action Committee fund from which they make donations to other candidates.
And since other Democratic officeholders are superdelegates, they BOTH have made tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in these contributions "to superdelegates."
Hillary has done it. Barack has done it. McCain has done it.
It's not illegal; it's not "news" as the information is completely public; it's not "buying votes."

Vonn, yes it is customary but it has never been customary in the amounts obama is giving to these elected officials. I checked the references and this is sick this looks like he has been buying candidates. I am calling my Louisiana Govenor, who apparently took 10Gs to find out how to start an official investigation. This smells like rotten fish and vonn obama has spent almost 3x as much and Clinton all look legit but obamas sure look and smell like rotten fish.

Yeah, this is just ridiculous. I know for a fact that Rep. Murphy's fundraising was hurt significantly by his support of Sen. Obama - in fact a major Dem. donor actually gave to his Republican opponent, just out of spite.

Lin, I dont think there is much he hasnt tried to buy, just my opinion; although it does give pause when you think about James Carville's comment about Judas and 30 pieces of silver. I am tired of the lies and the media spoon feeding it to American voters.

No it is not "ridiculous" voters have a right to expect their elected officials not to take "donations" beyond that which the Federal Elections Commission approves in value amount. These clearly exceed the limit. If you dont think its news then ask how many voter were aware that Patrick Murphy took so much money from Obama prior to giving his glowing endorsement and ask them how they feel about that. I promise you the everyday voter wont and does not like it or approve of it.
